Why Kids Love Waterville Valley.

From its very early years as a budding destination resort, Waterville Valley realized that to attract families it would need to offer something to do for every member of the family, most importantly, kids. Inherently, skiing is a family activity. Something everyone can do, beginning with the chairlift ride up the mountain (a great time to catch up on what's going in school, in life and so on), and followed by a thrilling, sometimes, adventuresome trip down the mountain (an easy trail can lead to a race or a chance to show off newly acquired skills, while a more challenging trail can produce photo-worthy falls and the sense that you accomplished something, together). Anyone will tell you that skiing is best learned at an early age, when we're game for trying something new and a tumble on the snow is considered fun and less scary. Waterville Valley's award-winning ski school has been teaching generations of young people how to ski and snowboard and they'll have your child up and successfully navigating the slopes quickly. Their staff truly loves the sport and their passion is infectious. Just look at the faces of ski school kids as they're being shuttled to and from the beginner slopes and you'll see nothing but grins; grins shared by parents when they see their children enjoying a sport they can participate in for the rest of their lives.

Kids in Waterville Valley enjoy apres ski, too. Tubing at the Clubhouse Tubing & Warming Center, swimming at the White Mountain Athletic Club, Ice skating, dodgeball, rock climbing, ice cream socials and more at the Town Recreation Department, story time, astronomy and drawing at the Curious George Cottage, and all the other shopping, dining and kid-friendly events in the Town Square. Most of all, Waterville Valley is a SAFE place. A place where you can send your kids off on the slopes, the shuttle bus, or anywhere in the valley by themselves, without worry. It's a kid-friendly place built on the idea that great childhood experiences lead to lifelong memories that will one day be passed on to the next generation when kids grow up and introduce THEIR kids to the magic of Waterville Valley.
